How we work across Leicestershire
We keep the process simple for sites in Leicestershire. A free survey tells us what the dock needs; a fixed written quote tells you what it will cost and what is included. We then organise the installation, with specialist engineers under our management and a programme agreed around your shifts. Night and weekend work is available by arrangement. Before we leave, the new equipment is tested, demonstrated and handed over with its documentation.
Repair and service visits in Leicestershire are chargeable, and we agree the price with you in writing before anyone attends. Photos or a short video of the fault help us send the right engineer with the right parts. If the visit uncovers more work than expected, we quote it and wait for your approval before going ahead. After every visit you receive a written report on what was found and done.
- Traffic routes for vehicles and separation of pedestrians
- Headroom above the opening and which track type will suit it
- Working hours, shift patterns and windows for out-of-hours work
- Escape routes and pedestrian doors close to the bay
- Wheel guide positions and yard markings for reversing vehicles
- Yard gradient and the slope of the approach to the dock
Which rules apply in England?
Powered doors and dock equipment installed in England may carry the UKCA or the CE mark, and doors are covered by the product standard BS EN 13241. We hand over the relevant documentation for each item fitted in Leicestershire. Planning and Building Regulations questions are never assumed either way: we check what applies at survey, so you know before work is booked.

Questions
How long does installation take at a site in Leicestershire?
It depends on the equipment, the number of bays, the condition of the dock and whether any building or electrical work is needed. We agree a programme with you after the survey, setting out which bays are out of use and when. Larger jobs are usually phased so that part of the dock stays open, and out-of-hours working can be arranged.
Can you work alongside our main contractor on a new build in Leicestershire?
Yes. For new warehouses and fit-outs, we can supply and install the dock package as part of a wider project, working to the main contractor's programme, site rules and permits. We will need drawings, dock levels and the programme, and we coordinate pit details, power supplies and door openings with the relevant trades before installation begins.
What is the difference between servicing and a statutory inspection?
Servicing keeps equipment working: cleaning, adjusting, lubricating and replacing worn parts. A statutory inspection or thorough examination is a separate check by a competent person, often arranged through your engineering insurer. Dock levellers are commonly inspected under PUWER at 12-month intervals, and lift tables may need LOLER thorough examination, depending on the equipment and how it is used. Your insurer or competent person will confirm what applies.
How much does loading bay work cost?
It depends on what you need. Our published guide prices run from £120 per dock bumper to £32,000 per loading house, and a complete bay with door, leveller, shelter and safety kit is typically £13,500 to £26,000 per bay, all excluding VAT. See the prices page for every item.
